Officers were called to report a man in the canal near Towpath Road on Friday morning at 8:18 am.
Officers, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Fire Brigade attended. Unfortunately the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In due course, formal identification will take place, but officers believe that the man is Nathan Cole.
We await the results of the specialist post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Nathan’s family has been supported by specialist officers, and are asking for media to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
